Ingredients:
1 pound ground Turkey
1 teaspoon coarse salt
½ teaspoon ground paprika¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup minced sweet onion
1 clove garlic, minced or crushed
1 Jalapeno whole pepper, diced
½ cup (4 oz) Orange marmalade
1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard*
Pinch of ground pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cornstarch
Burger Buns*
Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Mayo
Directions:
Combine the salt, paprika, pepper and garlic powder.
Blend into turkey and form into 4 balls. The turkey is very soft, so you will pat into burgers as you put them to cook.
Set Aside.
Preheat your grill pan, skillet or BBQ to a medium/low heat for the burgers.
Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat .
Add the onion, crushed garlic and jalapeno.
Saute until the onion is translucent.
Add the marmalade, mustard, black pepper and chili powder and cook and stir until fully combined-about 1 minute.
Turn up the heat and whisk in the cornstarch and cook, stirring until thickened-about 1 more minute.
Remove from heat.
Pat the turkey down into patties as you place them to cook.
Grill about 2-3 minutes then flip over, slather the glaze on the top of the burgers and continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes or until done. The glaze may start to scorch if you have on high heat, unless you know a neat trick to keep it ALL on the meat!
Toast or warm your buns, top the burgers with glaze, onion, tomato, mayo and lettuce.
